What is SEO?
SEO term for beginners, SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization, which, means making your website easier to find at the top of relevant search results on search engines such as Google, Bing, Yahoo, and much more. For example, if you own a Mobile shop in Delhi, India, SEO can help potential customers find your business when they search “Mobile shops in Delhi, India.” SEO starter guide:
The SEO process includes six general phases:
- Research, including business research, competitor analysis, current state assessment, and keyword searching.
- Planning and strategy, including decisions on how to handle content, build links to the website, manage social media presence, and technical implementation strategies.
- Implementation, where optimization decisions on a site’s web pages and the website as a whole are executed.
- Monitoring, where the activity of web spiders, traffic, SEO rankings, and other metrics are observed for producing reports on which assessments are going to be performed.
- Assessment, involving checking the summarized effects of the strategy (and its implementation) against the SEO process’s stated targets.
- Maintenance, where both minor or major problems with the website’s operation are handled as they arise (e.g., new content that needs optimization consistent with the strategy).
- The SEO process targets mostly organic links and SEO result placement; still, it's often complemented by more aggressive measures (e.g., paid search ads) and is usually a part of traditional marketing campaigns.
Traffic:
If you get a high volume of viewers but if they're not relevant to your target audience base, then it's not worth it. And if you get a low volume of consumers but most are relevant, then also it's not worth it.
Extremes of every traffic side aren't beneficial to any marketer. You've to strike a chord between volume and quality traffic.
However, this traffic shouldn't be achieved by compromising the experience of the users. Poor viewer experience may ultimately impact your traffic’s quality and quantity, which can decrease your SEO ranking.
What are On-Page and Off-page SEO? On-Page SEO For Beginners
There are two ways of optimization:
On-Page SEO - It includes providing good content, good keywords selection, putting keywords in right places, giving appropriate titles to each page, etc.
Off-Page SEO - It includes link building, links redirecting, increasing link popularity by submitting open directories, search engines, link exchange, etc.
What is The Aim of a Search Engine Algorithm?
The aim of the search engine algorithm is to present a relevant set of high-quality search results which will fulfill the user’s query/question as quickly as possible.
The user then selects an option from the list of search results and this action, alongside subsequent activity, then feeds into future learnings which may affect SEO rankings going forward.
Why SEO Is So Important For A Website?
The majority of search engine traffic goes to the Top 5 results. With SEO your website can appear in one of the top highest positions for your target keywords and obtain visits to your website.
